Netanyahu tells Macron that establishment of Palestinian state will ‘reward’ terrorism

Israel’s Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Tuesday told French President Emmanuel Macron in a phonecall that the creation of a Palestinian state would “be a huge reward” for terrorism. Macron, who last week said his country may recognise such a state, for his part said the suffering of Gaza civilians “must end” and that only a ceasefire will secure the release of the Israeli hostages still held by Hamas in the enclave.
